Why air conditioning matters

Heat closes classrooms, disrupts learning and puts strain on IT equipment. A single system handles cooling in summer and heating in winter.

No more heatwave closures

Keep classrooms open and learning on track when temperatures soar.

Year-round temperature control

Efficient heating and cooling – comfortable in July and January.

Better focus, better results

Concentration and behaviour improve once a room is at a comfortable temperature.

Protects IT investment

Keeps server rooms and network cabinets within safe operating temperatures.

Improved air quality

Filtered, circulated air reduces stuffiness and allergens in busy classrooms.

    FAQs

How much does air conditioning for a school classroom cost?

Prices start from £1,950, fully supplied and fitted. The final cost depends on the room size, the type of unit and the installation route. A free site survey confirms the right system and gives a fixed quote for each room.

Can air conditioning heat classrooms as well as cool them?

Yes. Modern air conditioning units work as heat pumps, so one system cools in summer and heats efficiently in winter. That makes it a practical option for rooms that are too hot in July and too cold in January.

Is air conditioning cheaper to run than traditional heating and cooling?

For heating, an air conditioning unit works as a heat pump. It typically produces three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity it uses, so it costs considerably less to run than electric panel heaters or plug-in fan heaters. For cooling, a fixed system is far more efficient than portable units and gives better results.

    Will installation disrupt teaching?

Installations are planned around the school day and can be scheduled for holidays, weekends or after school to keep disruption to a minimum. All installers are DBS-checked and follow the same safeguarding-aware approach as every school site visit.

Can air conditioning be installed in a server room or network cabinet?

Yes. Overheating shortens the life of servers, switches and other network equipment. Dedicated cooling keeps them within safe operating temperatures and protects the school’s IT investment.

Do air conditioning units need regular servicing?

Yes. Regular servicing keeps units running efficiently, and many manufacturers require it to keep the warranty valid. Maintenance plans are available so servicing happens on a schedule and doesn’t have to be chased.
